Keeping Winter Style Interesting with sweaters

The first thing that comes to mind when we feel cold is something that would make us warm. A sweater is one of the first things that we reach out for at such times. sweaters are one of the most popular winter-wear items that have been around for a very long time and they never go out of date. Sweaters referred to any type of knitted, woollen garment that is worn over a lighter type clothing. Over time the meaning and usage of sweaters have changed with continuous improvements and additions to the overall design of sweaters leading to the variety of sweaters that are available to us.

Today, sweaters are not just woollen garments but they are also available in cotton, synthetic fibres or other materials.  Moving away from the traditional design of being pullovers that cover the torso and arms, sweaters have become more improvised in keeping up with changing fashion trends. Buttoned, sleeveless, half zip, full zip, turtle neck, pullovers, crew neck, V-Neck, cable sweaters, shawl cardigans and cardigans are some of the different designs of sweaters available in the market. There are men’s sweaters, women’s sweaters and unisex sweaters that can be worn by both men and women.

More than just serving the purpose of keeping our body warm, sweaters have also become really stylish fashion wears. Originally worn untucked over the pants and thicker in texture they have been designed to be worn tucked in pants and more thinner varieties are available especially the Cashmere varieties. Different styles of layering, detailing, ribbed patterns and labels have come to dominate the look of sweaters. The use of materials other than wool and the developments in fabric technology have made sweaters more comfortable than they used to be earlier.

The recent varieties of sweaters are more sophisticated and have a lot of style and versatility to them. Sweater types like cardigans and V-Necks are usually worn over shirts paired with ties to give a semi-formal or a classic casual look. They can also be worn under a jacket to get a three piece suit type of feel but with more comfort. They also go really well with plaid and striped shirts because of the slim cuts that accompany them, making them better fitting than traditional designs.

The thinner varieties are worn as a layering over shirts or tees and require certain amount of neatness to carry them off well. On the other hand the thicker varieties like the Fair Isle and cable knits are less complex than the thin cardigans. They are very simple in design and come in a variety of colours. Pull off a unique look by wearing one of these heavy sweaters in cream or off-white colour that separates from the common black shades.

Choose from a whole range of sweaters in different designs, materials and colour from different brands on online shopping sites. Online shopping is a great improvement on the traditional method of shopping as you do not have to venture out of the house or go through all the rush and you can pay through various modes. So, go ahead and get the sweater that suits you best and keep your winter clothes
style interesting.
