The Canon EOS series for professional users

Canon Inc. is a Japanese multinational corporation specialized in the manufacture of imaging and optical products, including cameras, camcorders, photocopiers, steppers, computer printers and medical equipment. Its headquarters are located in Ota, Tokyo, Japan. The Canon EOS (Electro-Optical-System) is an autofocus camera series introduced in 1987 with Canon EOS 650. The acronym “EOS” was derived from Eos, the Titan goddess of the dawn in Greek mythology.
The EOS line comprises of EF lens mount, EOS flash systems and EOS cameras. The EF lens mount is the centre of the EOS camera system. It’s designed with no mechanical connection between moving parts in the lens and in the camera. The aperture and focus are controlled via electrical contacts, with motors in the lens itself. It’s a large lens mount, enabling the use of larger aperture lenses. The Canon Speedlite brand of EOS flash system is used in the EOS cameras. They are capable of wired and wireless multi-flash setups. The wireless multi-flash setups use visible or infrared pulses to synchronise. For professional users, models like the EOS-1D X and EOS 5D Mark III are one of the top models available in the market. The EOS-1D X comes with 18.1 MP full frame CMOS sensor with ISO 100-51200 and 12 frames-per-second continuous shooting which is expandable to 14 frames-per-second. Another model in this series is the EOS-1D C which gives 4K movie shooting and advanced video functions like Canon Log Gamma. It comes with an 18.1 MP Full Frame CMOS with 61 point AF system.
For new users, models like EOS 600D and EOS 1200D are the best preferred options. The EOS 600D is powered by an 18.1 MP high image quality CMOS sensor and the powerful DIGIC 4 image processor. Some features like Scene Intelligent Auto, Basic+ makes it simple to master creative functions. The new entry 1200D makes DSLR photography easy for everyone. Its user friendly features and creative filters allow first timers to capture attractive images with sharp detailing.
Finally for the semi-professionals, models like EOS 7D, EOS 60D and EOS 70D are usually suggested. The EOS 70D is equipped with Dual Pixel CMOS AF with sensor phase detection AF technology, which means it allows the user to fast focusing speeds during Live View still and movie shooting. It also has 19-point cross type AF and 7 frame-per-seconds continuous burst shooting. The EOS 7D comes with built-in image stabilizer and Full HD recording in 24, 25 and 30 frame-per-seconds. It covers a range from wide-angle to telephoto with beautiful soft-toned quality. The EOS 60D comes with an 18.1 MP APS-C size CMOS sensor with a shutter speed range of 1/8000 seconds and a 3-inch wide Vari-Angle LCD.
