To Get To It You’ve Got To Just Do It NIke Shoes

It takes a great degree of will and tenacity to overcome toppling circumstances and to just do it. Formed in January, 1964, by a track athlete named Philip Knight, who studied at the University of Oregon, and his coach Bill Bowerman, Blue Ribbon Sports (BRS) was a shoe manufacturing company that had its initial operations revolving around the distribution of Japanese running shoes. It wasn’t until 1971 that their union with the Japan-based shoe manufacturing company, Onitsuka Tiger, whom they distributed for would draw to an end thereby prompting BRS to create its own footwear. In the same year, the company changed its name from Blue Ribbon Sports to Nike, and incorporated the Swoosh sign as their logo, this logo was created by Carolyn Davidson.
Nike hired John Brown and Partners, an advertising agency, as their first in the year of 1976, the next year the agency came out with Nike’s first brand ad which was coined There is no finish line. There wasn’t any Nike product shown in this advertisement. After attaining 50% of the U.S. athletic shoe market’s market share, Nike went public by the end of 1980.
Later, there was a strong relationship that was established between Nike and the advertising agency called Wieden+Kennedy, the latter is still the primary ad agency of Nike’s preference. Dan Wieden, a co-founder of Wieden+Kennedy, was the individual who proposed the prized slogan Just Do It which was first used in an ad campaign of Nike’s in 1988. This slogan got a great deal of acclaim amongst the masses despite its contorted derivation. The credit to the inspiration behind the slogan was given to Gary Gilmore, a convict who committed two murders, and his last words, i.e., Let’s do it, that he nonchalantly uttered.
During the 80s, Nike broadened its product line such that it engulfed the sports world and rooted itself across numerous countries as an established and prestigious footwear, apparel and sportswear company. Nike currently has its headquarters situated in Beaverton, Oregon, U.S.A. The firm also acquired quite a few footwear and apparel companies, most of which it sold to maintain focus on its own business line, though as of 2013 the two most notable firms that are owned by Nike are Converse Inc. and Hurley International.
Brand lines like the Nike Flex 2013 Rn, Nike Lunarfly+ 4, Nike Nike Ballista Iv Msl and Nike Air Quick Handle are all perfect examples of the spectacular sports shoes that Nike creates in modern times, these shoes are not only extraordinary on the sports field but they also play exceptionally well in casual situations that require style.
Nike sponsors myriad sports such as cricket, football, basketball, ice hockey, tennis, track and field and lacrosse. Being a benefactor of so many players in varied sports, the company has received much fame and praise. It also markets itself under brand names like Nike Pro, Air Jordan, Nike Golf, Nike+ and Nike Skateboarding, apart from its own name.
Contemporarily, Nike shoes s is one of the world’s leaders when it comes to the supply of athletic shoes, apparel and sports Shoes, and it is the most valuable brand in the sports business with a brand value of 10.7 billion American dollars. Step by step, stride by stride, Nike has done it.
